Odyssey Central to Launch November 1st

We’re back again for the second time today with another short tidbit of news.

As some of you may know, an AIO fan who goes by the name of Eugene has worked on The Town of Odyssey message boards. What you may not know is that he’s also been at work on a website to tie together all of an Odyssey fan’s essentials. It’s called Odyssey Central, and, from what we here at the AIO Insider know about it, it will list links to AIO blogs along with their RSS feeds as well as letting you listen to Odyssey fan (and official) podcasts in the web app! This feature has not been officially announced, but we’d love to see it connecting to the Club API and allowing Club subscribers to log into their account and listen to AIO episodes inside of Odyssey Central.

Today the website, located at odysseycentral.com, displays a message announcing that it will (re-)launch November 1st. This is exciting news, so keep checking back.

Some (Slightly Outdated) News

Since this is the AIO Insider, we should be more up to date with our news. But better late than never, as Robyn Jacobs would say. Right?

  • A new Last Chance Detectives book is coming out titled Terror from Outer Space. It’s supposed to be coming out October 5th, this year!
  • The rest of the Grant family is supposed to be appearing in future episodes, according to an Adventures in Odyssey Club blog post
  • A second Megapack compilation album is set to be released on the 14th of September, 2021
  • Album 71: A Slippery Slope has begun releasing in the Adventures in Odyssey Club with the debut of The Team (please, no spoilers about that episode as I have not listened to it yet!)
  • The Fruit of the Spirit compilation album has been released on the Adventures in Odyssey Club
  • Rumour has it that there will be more Get in the Show contests, just none planned yet
  • This is pretty old now, but we have artwork for Trey Calhoun. He appeared on the front cover of the February 2021 Clubhouse magazine
  • The theme for Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off has been found out to be “The Importance of a Good Reputation” as stated on the back cover of Album 70
  • A Captain Absolutely compilation comic book is set to release January 11th, next year
  • There is also an Average Boy book coming out. This book is coming out February 8th, next year
  • FaceBase, marketed as “a gathering place for the AIO community” has opened the site to anyone willing to take part in beta testing. Q&A With Jaysmouse (I’m back)

First off this is not another “I’m inactive again” Post!!! 🎉

Secondly I have some excuses reasons for being inactive. First of all I was finishing school and have been pretty busy, and I forgot my username for the club. I know those aren’t the best reasons ever…. but I’m back now, and I will most likely be posting every week. If I don’t spam me on discord until I give in. (my username is Cyroze#7904 if you want to add me lol)

Anyways lets get to the actual post now.

So I decided to check my email for once in a few months, which was probably a good decision because I saw a email from JaySmouse about a Q&A I asked him to do like a half a year ago. Thanks for reminding me because I completely forgot.

I have done a Q&A before, but this one should have different questions I think..

1: What is the first episode or album you remember listening to?

I believe it was the Green Ring Conspiracy when it was just released, but I’m not sure about what first episode I listened to. Probably one of these, but I’m not sure.

2: When did you first hear AIO and when did you start listening consistently?

First started around 2013 and started listening consistently around 2018 (maybe 2017)

3: What is your least favourite episode and why?

That’s hard….. I honestly have no idea. I might make a separate post on it once I think about it more.

4: When did you first get involved in the AIO community?

Around 2019 when I started my blog, then I met all of you wonderful people

5: What or who inspired you to start the AIO Insider?

I was reading all of the blogs around 2018 and I was just like, “that would be fun to try” and here I am

6: What goals did you have in mind when you started your blog?

Not to become inactive. 😭

7: How have your goals for the AIO Insider changed?

My goal now is to not be a lazy person and make a post every week.

8: What do you have planned for the future of the AIO Insider?

Reviews, interviews, podcasts, competitions, and more.

I have updates on the Blogger Competition and Fan Art Competition. First, There is a limit on votes per month. Only 30. I have to pay if I want more. I don’t see any reason to pay for more votes. If your planning to vote, save it to around September 30. For the Fan Art Competition, I only got 1 entire, so I will extend the deadline to September 14. You can send any Odyssey art you have done. Why did you start the AIO Insider?

I had major inspiration from AIO Audio News and Welcome to Odyssey. I decided it would be fun to make a blog about Odyssey. I’m glad I did.

Why do you call it the AIO Insider.

I don’t really know why I called it that. I assume I was brainstorming ideas in my mind, and that popped in, and I used it because it was original and fit the theme I wanted my blog to have.

Which AIO character describes you best?

I’d say Buddy Norman. He mirrors my creative mind (although not as creative as his insane imaginations).
